Okinawa
Introduction
Okinawa (2006~2014)
The colors seen in Okinawa, or Ryukyu islands, which lies near Taiwan and Philippines, are deep and vivid. I assume that such deep color comes out because of the islands’ humidity or its dense air, or with a little help of some invisible beings. I’ve been deeply charmed by such a deep colors of subtropical Okinawa, so I decided to wander around those islands with Hasselblad, loaded with transparency films that emphasizes the vividness of the colors. It’s a hard job to shoot Hasselblad with a heavy tripod under the subtropical sun, but somewhat I love it.
